The next BotObjects? I’m particularly intrigued about the" low moving mass and the Bowden style extruder" in the pictured rendered design of the Wideboy…

Having a Cad model or even a prototype is not enough to start a company. At least a short production run should have been built before people drop such a large investment

Taking pre-orders while only showing a few small renders is just super sleazy.

I’m gonna try posting on Kickstarter a Polaroid of a toaster and say it 3d prints gold. See if I may the blogs

The amusing thing is that they talk about a carbon fiber enclosure to “keep the heat” (Hello! Carbon Fiber is thermally conductive!), Bowden extruder for low mass (but, hey, isn’t that a stepper extruder, and where is the bowden tube going to go?), and leadscrews (but, wait, isn’t the “photo” of the chassis an H-gantry?)

This Cambridge UK company had just announced that they had announced a merger with another UK company, but their stock is listed in the US OTC market?!?

With what they have so far, this feels like a boiler room company. The 3D Printing gold rush has brought out a lot of snake oil salesmen.

Does anyone remember the journalist that exposed another false 3D company a many months ago? He’s around here, iirc.

Lol its a money scam. Just look at the share prices.
Its no doubt a off shore company with a office in the UK.
Well dodgy.

Agreed. The Disclaimer page (http://www.makism3d.com/website/disclaimer) is all about financial/investment disclaimers, and nothing about the printer. Hmmmmmm…

I must reiterate this to people who are tempted to buy things like this, Kickstarter is not sky mall, it’s high risk angel investment, except with an added material reward. Schedules and quality are never guaranteed. Take this advice from somebody who made the mistake, do not by a 3d printer from Kickstarter.

OK, I’m done pontificating.

I don’t think Makism is even doing a Kickstarter.
