Do I have this right? The old roll is wider with a smaller diameter. The new one is narrower with a larger diameter. The new one would have fewer problems with curves and curls in the filament, making it easier to handle. Too if you could open the reel it might be easier to load loose coils of filament from a second party supplier barring the presence of a chip[ preventing that.
I the PLA filament I sell is manufacturered for me by the same company as the makerbot filament. On my site and generally they are 1kg (2.2lbs) or more. It’s a shame to hear they are giving less filament for the money. I would have thought their prices would have dropped since the market has become so competitive.
