@Michael_Schroeter_Mi …I first used the unsharpen mask…then posterize to darken the shaded areas then converted to greyscale…then converted to bitmap with dithered selected.
Looks great Scott. Looks like you’ve gotten the new machine figured out. I was going to order one a couple weeks ago (Amazon AndyKing) but they are out of them. Emailed them and was told they should have more soon. So instead ordered a larger milling machine from grizzly and the parts to CNC it. Gotta quit buying tools & toys before my wife divorces me!

Man that is awesome! I have been trying to do a photo of my Grand babies and can’t get it to work. All I have is that crummy corel that came with the printer. I do have the Vcarve pro & vcarve photo that i purchased for the CNC Router I built but don’t think that will work on my laser unit.
If you make a tutorial to do a photo like that can you please share it with me. I will purchase the software I need to do a photo like that!

Corel is a vector art program, not really meant for bitmaps, so it has limited features there. If you dont have/cant afford photoshop then free software like Gimp will do the job. all the filters mentioned above are standard and can be found in any half decent bitmap editor.
@Justin_Mitchell is right, I bought Photoshop elements 12 on Amazon for 70.00…great price considering its 170 at Wal-Mart’s.
70 bucks is minscule compared to what I have invested in my cnc softwares. I will get PE today. I just need some tutelage as I am not at all familiar with it.
