I understand you can do something similar with other filament types however you have to use some very aggressive chemicals not something you would want to release to the public!
I don’t think categorising it as hype is quite correct, it’s more of a case of you will have to choose your filament to fit the process. There’s nothing to stop someone else selling the same filament is there?
For me at least, it only needs to be as good or better than PLA. I don’t think anybody would describe PLA as a great plastic – nor ABS come to that. But for almost all of my printing needs so far PLA is good enough, so PolySmooth should be as well.
