The silicone heater finally came from China.

The silicone heater finally came from China. I have to say, I am really satisfied. I even asked in a short description while making the order that I do not want the Thermistor to be glued onto the silicone mat, but have a hole in that place instead for me to be able to mount my own Thermistor directly onto the aluminium bed. Guess what: they fulfilled my request exactly as described.
I had my printer running with a 1.4Kw 220v heater from an old pancake maker, so there was no problem for me to wait for the 6-7 weeks delivery time from China.
If you are willing to wait, than I highly recommend them.

In the picture you can also see the resetable thermal safety cut-off I added.

Was it possible to create custom sized heatbed?
Was the heatbed 12V or 24V?
How thick was the aluminium bed?
Was the bed flat?

@Johnny_Linden My post was about the silicone heater from Keenovo. It’s a 220v 800W version, 350x350mm size. They do make custom sizes I believe, you need to contact them. The bed itself is a piece of aluminium tooling plate (flat milled) 400x400mm. That one I ordered separately from an e-bay supplier in Germany, having the possibility to choose different sizes.

@Johnny_Linden Keenovo do make custom sized ones.

I can see why you went mains voltage on this one… 1.4kw is quite a lot of power! Looks nice. I like Keenovo heaters.

@Griffin_Paquette Actually the Keenovo heater is only 800W, 1.4Kw was the older pancake heater that I used before. But even for 800W, it’s too much for a 24V heater to be switched easy with MOSFETs.

Can you share where you got your thermal cutoff sensor? (Or part number)

Keenovo, while Chinese, is good quality. I have been using their large 400mm 120VAC 1.2kW pad for my printer for some time now. I have been very satisfied with the performance. I ordered from aliexpress (more shipping options compared to eBay) and shipping took less than two weeks to central US. I would also suggest opting for a mains wired voltage, 120 or 220 depending on your country, as long as you are comfortable handling mains voltage wiring.

@jerryflyguy I had a few lying around from some espresso machine parts. But you might find them on eBay, search for “resetable thermal switch”
