The sound coordination with FastLED is new to me but a quick search did not reveal any projects to visualize pitch class. I can’t find it but there was a video done at USC by the music tech folks of a helix that was a good way to see pitch level and class. I’d like to do this as a physical display for teaching SolFa. The feedback would be helpful like the hand signs for discriminating interval distances but could also be used to show how chords and key patterns are mapped to the 12 EDO standard. Is anybody else interested in this kind of project?
I am in the middle of a big project so I don’t have time to dig into this for a few months but I’d love to plant the bug in the ear of fellow tech musicians that this tech can do more than just make nice patterns, it could change music education. SolFa is magic.
