The top disc for locus (the ceiling as it were). 1440 leds sandwiched between 2 6’ acrylic disks. I’m in the middle of sanding one of them to improve the diffusion because I failed basic comprehension when I ordered the disks and conflated transparent and translucent. Oops…

If i get everything done in time, the walls will add another 1800 leds, and the flooring another ~1000. I’m still holding out hope for driving it all off of a single due

Exciting stuff. 4200 pixels! I can see why you want to drive them in parallel. Having that functionality will add a lot of extra uses, and give DMX a run for its money!

Also, I should note, outside of one fix for some led mapping, every video of this disc that i’ve posted is running the same code, no changes. (Behold, the power of noise, multiple sine waves of different periods driving the parameters of that noise, and random seeding of the bounds/period of said sine waves (within predefined constraints, that is))

simply amazing on many levels. love it

1440 LEDS = ~90 amps? What are you powering this with?

That’s assuming that I do full white across all the leds - which I don’t  I have a couple of 30A 12V power supplies that I will be using to drive a mix of 5v and 12v leds (with 3-5A 5V buck converters for each 2-4 meter segment of 5v leds)

definitely an appropriate Shpongle song for less of this magnitude :]

There’s been a lot of shpongle, younger brother, hallucinogen, and various Raja Ram projects listened to in the construction and programming of this thing  Also the opening lyric to this is currently my favorite bit of song lyric.

Looks like your LED project playlist is about the same as mine!
