There are a lot of very good USB controller cards with their own 200khz clock, isolated inputs,…
But they all seem to be 3 and 4 axis.
Does anyone know a USB or RS585 (not LPT) controller card for 5 axis?
Since my 4th axis is crappy, there are adorable 4+5 axis kits and I’m writing a 5 axis CAM for myself, I’m really looking for that upgrade.

Update:
one possible USB board: (not MACH3 compatible) http://www.planet-cnc.com/index.php?page=hardware

the hardware I’m pondering:

Or does anyone know the protocol the speak?
Maybe I can design and program my own board.

cool! Thakns for the link!
If my 4+5 axis CAM software works I’ll consider the upgrade to a 5 Axis CNC.

@Antonio_Eduardo_Mart do I need their control software or does it work with MACH3? (Since I have already purchased a license and like it.)

In what way could it possibly work better?

Does it support my MACH3 USB remote control and my MACH3 plugin to control by spindle bia RS485?

Does it allow named subroutines in G-Code?
Does it allow more then just a few thousand variables (e.g. to store 50x50 Z-probe heights for PCB engraving)?

FAQ:
Is controller compatible with Mach3?
Controller does NOT need Mach3. This is a stand alone solution and works without Mach3.

…doesn’t sound good. :frowning:

Sorry, that board is incompatible with my setup.
