I’m guessing they mean FDM printers. Resin printers especially DLP wont be moving steppers to extrude. Not sure how the laser in the form1 moves. but would still not be able to calculate extrusions. Anyway 90% is like a pretty bad analog bootleg, ( read cam of a movie if you’re under 30) nothing like getting a print almost right.
@Michael_Scholtz i guess the journalist didn’t realize that.
GTFOH!
Back in the day, someone worked out you can reconstruct the contents of a CRT monitor just by listening to the EMF noise the electronics made.
I call bull shit on that headline!
@J_Miller it’s legit, but it only really works for basic 2.5D shapes. but even then its pretty rough.
would be easier just to copy the files.
If they have already bugged my house or business, my 3D prints are the least interesting audio… Me proving myself an idiot or my business discussions are more interesting (embarrassing). It would be a colossal waste of time.

“Hey, that guy is printing a gun!”
Who are you
@Brook_Drumm Honestly, I’d bug your business just to find out when the embroidery machine is coming out.
Okay, so not honestly, but still.
I’m waiting for the article that’s titled “If hackers can put this device between your USB cable and computer, they can see what you’re printing!!1!”
Justin, we haven’t given up on the embroidery machine, just working out details for the primary contributor to get paid
