Thermistor not going anywhere, continuous strip of Kapton running twice round the hot end. This is how my J-head was taped up, I printed at mostly 245C and it never once extruded itself.
I’m rebuilding my i2 with new electronics and an E3D hot end, slightly disappointed that their instructions have a flimsy bit of Kapton holding the thermistor in, at least there’s nothing to melt.
@Liam_Jackson Wrap the tape round the thermistor (I had to pre-cut my tape to the right width), then use an exacto blade to cut the holes for the heater.
Has anyone had any issues with Kapton tape when extruding above 260deg C? That is the specified upper thermal limit.
I have wondered if it would be better to wrap the heater block with insulation then tape.
