Thinking about building a delta for my next printer (my last build was a MG Prusa). Any recommendations on what design to start with? I don’t have any specific capabilities in mind but is like to print as much of as I can and keep the price down
I’m in the same spot as you. Although, I do have a bunch of 25mm t-slot aluminum (from the Misumi offer earlier), and four steppers (from the first Massdrop deal).
Why not a Wally or Lisa ? They are as much printed as you can get !
I did the same thing, used my MG prusa to print a delta
Made a kossel (now called kossel legacy), its been a alot of fun. I would recommend the kossel mini now.
@William_Frick definitely on my list to try a Wally/Lisa, but I haven’t played with a delta yet and kinda just want to learn about them
The 3DR is also a good option (rather high ratio of printed parts too!)
Kossel Mini. It’s the build that I’m in the middle of and the community is awesome.
Kossel looks cool, but not sure where to source the makerbeam; seems kinds pricy?
Buy Openbeam. Terrance has made amazing efforts to get quality extrusion, and he’s opened up a lot about the process (fascinating reading if you’re interested in manufacturing)
As for price, I can’t really speak to that. I know that what you get with OpenBeam is quality.
@Jason_Gullickson Did you see the recent post about Misumi? New account gets $150 free on first order! I bought 8x 1m 25x25mm extrusion and 100 T-nuts and paid under $30 after shipping! Received it yesterday: quality stuff!
@Carlton_Dodd Where/what is this offer you speak of?
@Eclsnowman had a post a while back. Here’s the link to the reddit topic: http://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/1x6qd3/update_150_worth_of_free_stuff_from_my_company/
