This didn’t turn out perfect, but still cool enough. I printed a patch of Chain mail from Thingiverse. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:45203

This definitely tests out how well your printer can do overhang. The dark patch in the picture is the black colored ABS that was still in the extruder as I changed color to red.

Out of everything, I think it tests your ability to retract nicely more than anything. Overhangs are merely a result of your ratio of layer height to nozzle width and correct temperatures.

I have seen it and wanted to print it too. I like the idea of links printed already together like that.
