This is a quick question for those based in the UK, where is the best place to get filament from? More interested in wide stock options though for PLA would like to know a good inexpensive filament supplier.

Cheers

I am sur not based in uk but you can get very good, foodsafe filament from here:

http://www.3dk.berlin

Not the cheapest but still good pricing. Rigid.ink filament works amazing. Just wish they made smaller 500gram spools for the colours and plastic I don’t use often.

I use http://reprapworld.com for cheap stuff, works but quality is inconsistent. Had some nice prints from some of their rolls though (blue transparent PLA). Hobbyking (UK warehouse) stuff might work out cheaper now depending on shipping, heard of a few people using them but not tried it myself.

e3d has a great range but not cheap. Also prices on their site are ex-VAT so beware of the checkout shock when they add VAT and postage!

Faberdashery has some awesome PLA (smells great too!) more on the expensive side but worth it if you want that special colour. I also like their 10m sample packs which give a range of colours, so that I always have the colour I need without splashing out on loads of spools. I find their loose filament much easier to work with than other manufacturers, probably because it’s not coiled as tightly.

I buy from http://3dfilaprint.com. They stock several brands and specialty filaments.

I mostly use http://Reprappertech.com ABS and PLA which is cheap but very good.

Thanks to all the replies, I’m quite new to 3D printing and purchased a roll of PLA off eBay a few years ago, before I found out about roll degradation due to damp and the like. I’m currently having a few issues on my Huxley where the layers aren’t binding so want to make sure it’s not due to old filament.
