This is awesome, anyone know of any other slicers out there that do this? Perfect combination of speed/resolution.

This is awesome. Downloading the software now.
Yeah but it works through their Ember software. Check out this Instructable for more info http://www.instructables.com/id/Variable-Slicing-for-3D-Printing-on-Autodesk-Ember/?ALLSTEPS
rofl…“see, we started from the bottom, now we’re here”…this is an amazing video.
I imagine at some point most slicers will just have an option to do this, the concept seems pretty straight forward.
I’ve done something like this manual in simplify3d, but it’s tedious at best. The automation of this is pretty awesome.
Can do manually changes in layer thickness with Slic3r. It’s a little bit of a chore. It won’t take the CSV table the AutoDesk software can generate but at least it give information to work from.
What if the right and left side has different slopes?
I want to see how this does a Yoda head.
@Torleif_Ceder my guess would be it takes the average of the slopes at each infinitely small slice and calculates it that way. This is pure speculation though.
+Lukas Mathis, You can turn off top and bottom layers on any process you add. Never had an issue with that. It’s just get super tedious to make a bunch of processes for every new file you slice. I’ll be trying out Varislice as soon as I get some free time. But still looks like a bit of effort. Looking forward to the day they make this streamlined. Such a great concept.
Can’t seem to export as a tar.gz from print studio for this.
