this is my first 3d printer,I think this is my best investment ever. besides my house of course. happy printing people
The MakerGear M2 is a solid machine. I feel like MakerGear has been largely overlooked in the market recently…maybe just because they’re kind of silent. They make a good printer, but not much else in terms of news or development from them so they just kind of slip to the back of the mind…
Who makes that printer? What are the specs?? I recently just got into 3d printing myself, I have a M3D printer…
ya, this is an awesome printer that’s forsure!!

It was a very, very nice machine when it was introduced, back about the time when the threaded rod A-frame machines were popular. Now, it’s still a nice machine. I don’t understand why they haven’t made any major updates or additions to the model line since, though. Even the newest Marlin on their support site is about 3-4 years old. It predates support for bed heater PID.
I’m two years with my M2. Still not much competition compared for the price and features. 8x10 build area, solid, with great support. My prints look better than most I see posted online.
It’s a good machine, but there are several simple changes that can be done to make it better. The #1 problem seems to be the extremely aggressive Z screw, it’s a four start screw and it requires a lot of power to overcome that mechanical disadvantage and the weight of the Z platform. A two or one start Z screw would cause fewer problems.
