This is my first project with Arduino/Neopixels/FastLED, a wearable headband for festivals. I’m thankful for the inspiration & resources this community offers.

I realise that the LED brightness is way too high for the video; room for improvement  No bluetooth control, no sound detection, just a plain led strip.

After some test/festivals I found out that effects which use all LEDs simultaneously will just burn the eyes of fellow partypeople. I also tried the usage of all LEDs at half brightness. Effects with a couple of active LEDs at full brightness seems to be optimal.

I’ve got a few hat like that. One of them has a potentiometer, which I use for brightness. Great for battery life as well as not being too obtrusive.

Nice first project!

Thanks  And I’ll read up on the potentiometer docs for an upgrade!

Thinking about making one of these for my wife for a New Year’s Eve party. Where are you keeping the board and battery pack for this?

@Brian_Lewis I keep them in my backpocket. Just changed my Arduino Uno + 3x AA to Teensy 3.2 + 4x AA, covered by a 3D printed case.
