This is my new RepRap 3D Delta printer design, inspired by the fantastic Rostock, Kossell and Tantillus printers - this design uses a simple set of 3D printed parts in triplicate form to produce an elegant, fast and quiet RepRap 3D printer.
This is really cool! I’m new to 3D printing and while deciding what “style” to go with I’ve been leaning towards there “tower type” I don’t think it would be too hard to add a hotbed thought I am sure some modifications would need to be made in order to accommodate a 200mm square hotbed on a triangular machine.
Very nicely done. Will you be sharing the files to build one of these? I have a makergear device but would like to really build one from scratch and this looks like a nice design to do so. Thanks for sharing and good luck.
The reason behind the T-slot simply to stiffen the frame? Any reason you didn’t use it for linear motion? (My guess is that you don’t trust its straightness?)
@John_Weland_Johnny_D ah I’m located in portland Oregon. Once I work all the kinks out of my i2 again I might be able to help ya out, in the process of moving so it might be a bit.
Cool, what about printing the t-slots as well. Like http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:46345 You would need to connect multiple printed t-slots somehow to a long one.
@Mathias_Dietz Yes, that’s totally possible as the machine is not using the T-slot for motion, so could be printed even with a printed join and bolt together section, I’ll look into doing that.
