This is definitely for Firewalkers heh? I tried the same fix but they broke again. I have yet to find a way to build durable Firewalkers 
Yeah this is just a quick one for now im working on some flex pcbs for them. And quick doesnt make much sense since ive worked on these for 3 days already lol

You could use for the sides 2 long pieces of uncut bare wire (copper or whatever) and just solder them on the unions and for the center piece you will need to do as you are because it will disturb your vision. youll be faster this way
Yeah i tried that but i wanted to avoid shorts at all possible points lol
it won’t short out, you could also use some nail polish or some kind of paint if you want to be extra cautious… but I’m pretty sure nothing is gonna happen
Right… nail polish. I just recently startes using that stuff to cover vias lol
