This is the first time I have printed with NinjaFlex from @Adafruit_Industries and I love it!

It is very compressible and pretty flexible too… but my @MakerBot1 Replicator 2 had a little trouble pulling it through the extruder.

Can’t wait to start printing some prototype ideas!!

Any tips for printing on a rep2 from your experience? Thinking about making some phone cases, bumpers and a new holder for my fitbit one but haven’t taken the plunge yet.

Unfortunately I have not got to play with it near as much as I hoped when I got it 8 months ago. But… mine has been super easy and user friendly since I took it out the box. Just had to play with how much infill to give it per design. Just dive in! It is fun to play with for sure!

I’ve been using NinjaFlex for some time… I get best results when slowing everything down, printing at 215C to 218C, but the big thing is to set retract to something like 4 to 6mm (w/ 3mm filamant). also set it to retract often. so retract between layers, when traveling and when making large moves. I normally print straight on cold glass without problem. I really love printing with NinjaFlex.

Have been trying to print with my MB 2X, but just cannot get the Ninja Flex thru the extruder…:frowning:

Anyone who could share experiences?

@Markku_Huusko It’s important to completely remove any old filament. The filament path below the hobbed gear needs to be clear an free of obstructions and fairly smooth. If you remove the idler, are you able to push filament all the way down by hand? It’s difficult to push something flexible, so the path needs to be free of friction. Also try to slow down you feed rate while priming the hotend, and try backing up occasionally… I usually get the hotend primed by pulsing forward 4mm, and reversing 2mm as the filament approaches the hotend, until it’s extruding smoothly. BTW I’m using 3mm filament in a Mendel90 with E3D hotend.

Hey @Markku_Huusko … I had to pull the spool off the back of the @MakerBot1 and just leave a big unwound pile of NinjaFlex material. I have it coiled up like a garden hose so that it can be pulled up very easy. I think that spool is just too tight…
