This last week I've been trying to get a new filament type (white eSUN-PETG)

This last week I’ve been trying to get a new filament type (white eSUN-PETG) up and running on my Monoprice Maker Select V2 and have been having a ton of new issues I haven’t had to deal with yet on ABS/PLA. I had read that this stuff oozes/strings badly but I had played around with temperature, retraction, and print speed with no luck. Finally I checked my extrusion calibration and hit the jackpot.

This article had the most clear explanation on how to do this that I could find so wanted to share the knowledge.

my experience is that you should do the temperature calibration before the multiplier and for the multiplier using 2-3 perimeters would give you a much better result.

also make sure you have a very good caliper - the 50 cents one you bought at the local store on sale probably will not be accurate enough for the calibration

Once you have the mechanical settings down and if you don’t have a caliper you can use these clips. When they fit together not too tight or too loose you are perfectly calibrated for that particular filament. Compensates for physical dimensions and thermal cooling properties.
