This may be a lot to ask but i need a favor from one

This may be a lot to ask but i need a favor from one of the awesome members of the 3D printing community. My laptop just went down again and i cant get it to restart at all. My little brother’s birthday is today and i wanted to print the V29 whistle for him. I already have the gCode file but its stuck in my dead laptop. Would any of you be able to email me the gCode file for the V29 whistle? That way i can save it on a microSD card and use an adapter to get it on to the printer. Pretty please. I need help!

For the best chance of it working you’ll need to provide the temperatures you want to print at, any sort of specific instructions in your start gcode (for example whether you have any kind of auto probe for bed levelling) and all your other settings like speeds, extrusion width multiplier, etc. and the slicer (though most slicers SHOULD produce similar output, some do fancy tricks or have better support generation than others).

What printer do you have? What filament are you using? Any specific slic3r? We need some details or the code could crash the printer

I agree that you need to provide specifics. That said, if you have an old platter hard drive and it has bad spots that do not want to read, you could chill the laptop in the freezer to get it work. If you have a solid state disk, that would only make it worse. If you think the disk is probably bad and you wish to retrieve data from it, the place that you buy the new disk (or laptop) from may be nice enough to retrieve what they can of your old data. Be very careful to be clear that you want the data retrieved and that you want to know if they will charge you first. Otherwise, they may either format your disk and make segments as bad or charge you some stupid price for it or both.
If you have a raspberry pi or an android device, you can install software for eiher device for making software. That way, you can have your settings on hand.
The next time you have a working laptop with a configured slicer on it, you could export your settings and put a copy of it online (possibly in yoir email account or Google Drive account or Pastebin account). You could then share that copy with someone willing to slice your gcode for you.

Suggest you go to your public library and use a computer there to slice with a cloud slicer like http://astroprint.com

Gcode isn’t usually portable between printers.

Dag nab it! I posted an inverted word selection again! Wording corrected. Do not freeze/chill solid state disks.

Thanx guys. Sorry i went to bed at 5 am lol. The laptop finally came back on. It was out for like 4 or 5 hours. Apparently its not supposed to take more than 30 minutes -_- that was a lot more than 30

And its for the Prusa i3 MK2S using PLA

Thanx to everyone who answered to the post, i hope i dont run into this issue again in the future but if it happens i know i can count on you guys for a hand
