Thought for the day: we will have arrived when Harbor Freight sells a REALLY cheap, REALLY crappy, 3D printer.
Uh, dammit! I know there’s a good come-back… Give me a minute…
We will have really arrived once Home Depot takes the same exact unit, repackages it under the Ryobi brand, and sells it for $30-$50 more.
How’s that @Woody_Williams ?
Nah, I need it poorly painted in Harbor Freight Red.
Sounds like you need to grab that $550 mill, do a CNC conversion, and stick an extruder on there.
I have one…X and Y can be tuned out but the Z stage and backlash will be HORRID!
Sorry, my Cohesion3D Printers only have zero backlash in all axes.
If buy one if they were cheap enough
Have some others but a harbor freight machine would be fun to abuse.
It’ll be a re-branded Makerbot!.. Oh, wait, you said cheap… never mind.
I have my 20% off coupon ready.
Please don’t give them ideas. They might even throw some micro bearing beads in the included filament for free.
@Jeff_DeMaagd - I got my first printer a little over a year ago.
A week in I start getting constant jamming and am going crazy trying to get this thing to work. turns out the Monoprice filament had ball bearings in it. Great way to learn a new trade. That said, I put all that frustration to use now in designing printers that just work. Not saying they’ll survive a ball bearing attack, but they power through everything I throw at them.
