Thought I’d re-link this here since this project would not have been possible without the R7 and the help I received getting to grips with Aluminum machining.

Finally got round to gathering all my photos from this years Burning Man piece titled Interdependulum.

I think I shared some of the build pics earlier this year, but this is the full collection. It was placed at 11:30 and 5800 feet from the man, so it was waaaay out in the deep past the temple. A lot of work to maintain every day getting out there, but it survived the week (one of the pendulums got destroyed, but thats why we made two right?).

This was the first time I’ve managed to bring together all my hobbies and every one of my tools into one project, had to learn a lot about Aluminum machining, and how to make solid low-friction rotating mechanisms. Not bad for a first attempt I think.

My son Bryce just said “Dad, can you make me one of those?” When I showed him the pictures.

haha, I think there were a lot of small (and big) kids out on the playa that wanted one!

I now need to clean them up, fix the broken one, then see if I can figure out another home for them. Way too scary to have strapped to the wall of my office.
