TMC2100 Stepper Motor Driver , anyone have any experince with these ? I was thinking about geting a set for my X and Y Axis and trying them out.
I have seen a few videos about them in the photo type of use . But I was wondering about anyone who used them in 3D printers too .
They are my favorite, just dig through my videos where the title has “TMC2100” in it. I did some comparison- and sound-videos…
They are awesome in silentstep mode, as far as noise goes, but TERRIBLE at losing steps unless you’re going really slow. 24v seems to be the better option for running them silently. Spread-spectrum mode is pretty quiet, and eliminates the torque and lost step problems of silentstep mode.
Got them on my quadrap. Couldn’t be happier.
