To members who use slic3r & ABS printing.
What is your setting for “layer print time” that enable fan under “cooling thresholds”?
I know active cooling for ABS can cause cracking but it is inevitable in printing small area, right?
This is tricky for me because enabled fan at lower layer can cause lift. But I don’t want to disable auto cooling.
How you handle this issue?

You can in Slic3r disable cooling for the first layers, but I never use the cooling fan when printing ABS.

@William_Frick I disable cooling first 3 layer, Don’t you have any problem printing small area?

@Mark_Rehorst It would be perfect solution only if slice software provide that kind of option. Insert code by script is not what I want. Thank you for your opinion.

Cura has this feature. (I seem to say that a lot)… Its called “cool head lift” in the expert settings window.
