Today I’ve been dialing in the parameters for PCB isolation routing. I’m using a 30 deg etching bit from drillman1 off eBay. Best cut has been 15mil depth of cut with 3 mil steps. With a loop and calipers I’ve been measuring a cut width of 25mils. (Runout not measured) The vacuum table is working well but I perceive a variation of at least 3 mils change in elevation . At about 0.5 mil is from the stock. 1206 size components will be doable 0805 perhaps and 0603 size if I’m very lucky. The test piece had all those and an SOIC8 package. Through hole components should be no problem.Not bad for a 1Mx1M cnc machine. Photos by the Lumin app on iPad
