Today the fishing line ob my @Printrbot Simple broke. After mounting a new one I got a shift of layers on that axis. What should be a vertical edge is something like stairs…
Any suggestions?
Looks like you have slack on your new fishing line. Make sure it it really tight when you move your axis from one extend to the other.
And if it’s the braided stuff, it WILL stretch.

I went through the same thing when I extended my x axis and had to use an alternative cause I couldn’t find the same line. I found some paracord, so while it didn’t stretch it would instead seem to start to slip after a few hours of print time.
When I got my @Printrbot Simple kit I was missing the fishing line. I did file a support request and they are sending me some. In the mean time I tried 2 type of fishing line:
First I bought Some braided Northern Sport 40lbs black line. It stretched a bit but worked, but if not thigh enough the sand paper will eat through it.
Last week I bought some high quality SpiderWire Stealth Braid 80lbs line. Right now this is what is running on my X axis and this stuff is strong and has a bit or rigidity and it will not stretch much.
