Tonight I tested a new design of my Diff to Traxxas yokes. They are no longer the weak point of my drivetrain (I ripped out the center diff). The new design is in my Dropbox link on the wiki.
I split it into two parts, a thin ring and the primary part. The ring spaces the bearing from the diff and allows it to be slid on before attaching the output to the diff. Use M3 screws instead of the pins provided with the diff outputs. May require fine tuning of hole size.
Ask and you shall receive.
Hopefully I’ll get around to posting up everything I’ve done so far. I’m now using a Traxxas center diff, front/rear diffs, and driveshafts everywhere. Also modified a couple other parts including the A-arms C-hubs, diff housings etc. Even made it easier to remove my battery by changing the top plates some. I don’t quite have it all finalized yet but if someone asks I’ll gladly give them what I have. At this point I should really make the whole thing its own variant.
I uploaded a step file of my entire assembly to that dropbox location. Most of the STLs in there are probably outdated by now so definitely work from the stp file. I’m not entirely sure which components you’re using but that file should get you going with some variation of the process I went through. I’m using mostly Slash 4x4 driveline components but haven’t gotten all of the driveshafts switched over (in model or real life).
