Took apart a few rolls of the Stratasys ABS-M30 and SR-30 support material that we use on the Fortus 450 if any one was interested. I thought it was a good idea how they pack the desiccant right in the roll, but surprised by how much material was left after they say it was at zero
Reminds me of the days of the 3D Systems cube always telling me it was empty with a good bit left.
Looking at the metal enclosure with something coming off the side, I though it was a cage fan at first. After that, I saw the other pictures. That seems like an expensive way to pack things.
i opened the cartridge of the Elite, it is similar but all plastic, sealed and yes there are 20m left when the roll is considered empty, this is because they calculate up to 10 changes and each change takes 2m.
PS… It’s about $350 for 92 in∆3
@marc_kerger yeah u think they would have a better system then this though. Oh well looks like I get a bunch of free filament
@NathanielStenzel yeah and they don’t even give you a core refund when you recycle them just free shipping
My brother uses the same printer, he sends me what is left!
@Joca_God I’m excited for the support material. Works great in the wash tank
I don’t even own a 3d printer Just a 3d pen lol
@Joca_God Thats an awesome use!
That little (ptfe?) tube looks interesting, seems like it could decrease tangling?
@Peter_Hertel I believe that is used as a guide into the head area
