Trying out the fan as many people mentioned. I have covered the bottom half as it was very hard for the hotend to get up to temp with it open. I also noticed that I had to drop my first layer height way lower for some reason. If this print works then I will consider it a success.
If you made the first layer thinner because it was peeling off the bed then the fan is causing a breeze on the print itself. It may be indirect. Sucking the air in through the fan could cause the air around the fan to move as well. You could probably turn the speed of the fan down slightly and better funnel the air towards the cold region of the hotend.
