The heated bed “Printrbot Simple XL Extended: Heated Bed” from the Indiegogo campaign has finally arrived!
I can’t complain about the delay though. When the founding was complete I pledge to increase the heated surface from the initial 185mmx100mm to cover almost the complete board. I’m happy that the designer decided to listened to me!
I decided to make my own casing for an external relay and a second laptop PSU rather than using the Printrboard output because of forum comments that the Printrboard output was not powerful enought. At the same time I decided to try out my new M3 metal thread inserts and the result was good enough considered they were aligned by hand.
