Two macro lens views of a failed print.

Black PLA, printed at 195C, fully water saturated.

Delaminates with very little force - also notice the “styrofoam” texture of the extruded plastic from the steam bubbles.

I wonder if “wet” PLA could be used as a support material for dry PLA…

If so, it would make wet PLA useful!

I had very similar outcome with PETG extremly under extruded.

What is this

i’ve actually been using 2 rolls of bad/really old pla as support material for pla and petg over the past 5-6 months. i don’t think it’s as bad as what you have there (though it’s just sitting outside open all the time), but it works great - really easy to remove.
just make sure not to print to fine a support with it for obvious reasons… i had an almost failed print because i forgot to beef up supports. it turned out usable because with really good cooling, the petg i have air-printed unexpectedly well. i had to remove ~2 layers with an exacto knife from the bottom - but i ended up with a usable part.
