Update: The extruder suddenly stopped churning out the plastic
I have recently finished the wire management of my Printer, printed out a new enclosure for my Ramps, and all was going OK.
I’ve tried to reprint some cookie cutters today, and fail
Lesson for all: Active cooling on the stepper drivers is a must.
The enclosure I printed doesn’t have a fan mount, but only some ventilation holes.
The stepper driver are overheating, and thermal shutdown on the extruder drivers kick in…
Next steps: figure out for I’ll mount some fans for active cooling. I’m thinking of cutting out a hole on the one side of the enclosure and put a fan to blow over the board… But it will have to be a 40 or maximum 50mm fan…
