Bumped up from stock to 1M x 1M and added the z-axis belt drive.
Very nice. Are you happy with the size upgrade and was it easy to level at that size. I expanded my work table but I haven’t done the shapeoko expansion yet.
I made sure the work table was level in all directions first. That ultimately made the machine relatively easy to get in alignment. I do need to physically connect the two gantry maker slides though as they tend to twist in the middle. I’ll also probably add a set of center supports along the y axis.
What steppers? I bought the 23 upgrade kit with mine. Would that be enough to expand to a work area like yours? Looks awesome btw
Sure. The work area really isn’t effected by your stepper selection. I’m sure there are plenty of people with expanded machines still running NEMA 17 motors.
To answer your question though, I’m running Probotix 260oz in steppers.
