Waiting to receive my first 3D printer,

Waiting to receive my first 3D printer, but between QU-BD’s alleged failure to correctly address the lable and the USPS providing the worst Priority service with 22 character tracking number that is essentially worthless - I have become quite frustrated, disappointed, and down right grumpy. I was told my printer was sent back to the shipper - a week later, I get an email that says - oh - we shipped it back. WHAT!?! I called the office where it was supposedly staying. A human told me it wasn’t there. And now - the automation says - btw: we sent it back yesterday. So now I have to be patient another two weeks?

NEVER USE USPS if you want it to get delivered in a predictable way. The USPS’s tracking system is worthless. The money saved by USPS rates isn’t worth the headaches they create. I wonder if I can talk QU-BD in to re-sending it UPS?

Agreed. USPS is okay for letters and small personal packages you’re sending to your mom, but businesses should always use a private carrier (UPS/FedEx/DHL/etc.)

@Rojer_Wisner BTW: Each US Post Office is run semi-autonomously by the local Postmaster. So, each office is likely to have slightly different policies and attitudes toward customer service.
I’m lucky; my local PO is quite good. My local FedEx and UPS depots also have excellent customer service. Maybe I just live in a really good area.

While UPS may be preferred over USPS within the states, I assure you UPS to Canada (from the states) is most annoyingly NOT maker friendly. On shipments flowing through customs the postal service charges a fraction ($5-10) for brokerage fees compared to the $40+ that UPS charges. So, maybe for a $1000 printer it makes sense, but when a $10 part needs replacing, the extra $40 COD is criminal.

No doubt. Yes - I am just speaking within ConUS basically. Each service has their benefits and there downfalls. On the continental US - UPS for ground and FedEx for air really are the best choices, made better when a company has a contract with one of them, saving about half the cost of regular retail prices; also providing superior tracking info over the USPS tracking theater.
