Wanted: Arduino desert laptop
Wanted: recommendations for cheap laptop for hacking Arduino in a very hot, very dusty place with no wireless for miles around. Long battery life a plus. Thoughts? Links to awesome deals? Anyone here actually put the Arduino IDE on a Chromebook themselves? #)’(

A decent Android tab with a BT keyboard? No moving parts, light, small and long battery life. Hold a tonne of sketches on a SD card. Get a ruggedised case if you really want to withstand the elements. Plenty of Android tabs now with hostable USB.

Add in a 25,000mah LiPo battery ‘backpack’ and you could go for days without AC

That might be a great idea! Got a particular tablet you’ve (seen) used for Arduino IDE -based development?

I’ve got one I am going to play with today - a Pipo: https://www.topnotchtablets.com/buy-pipo-max-m9

I am very curious to hear what the tablet + Arduino IDE experience is like.

I will let you know.

muhahahaha, see you in the dust!!!

+Mark Kriegsman I have 280 watts of solar on the roof of our RV (and inverter) so I can provide U with some watts for recharging. We’ll be at 6:00 and D, Minstral CrAMP.

Thanks! #)’(

Can we send you sketches so we can come visit if we need to reload our devices on the playa? lol

Not sure I’ll have a PC laptop with me as most of my “stuff” is on the simple side. I’m just getting into using FastLED and am really liking what Daniel and Mark have created and shared  BUT do come visit!

@Mark_Kriegsman I can’t find my USB host adapter, so I haven’t been able to try the Pipo, but I will keep looking - it’s in a box… somewhere
