Wanted to share my conversion from ABS (green), to PLA (Red, but looks pink).

Wanted to share my conversion from ABS (green), to PLA (Red, but looks pink). I wasn’t a huge fan of the translucence, but it’s hard to argue with that print-ability. Our house has been rather cold lately, which is why I was getting huge d-lam issues and warp.
Also, I have no idea what happened to the roof of the house, it was printing overnight and I ran out of filament

I’m excited to print some bigger objects now with PLA! It also has the added benefit of a much better odor (although I can’t really smell ABS, my wife is sensitive to it.)

@John_Ridley What heater did you use? I’m having problems since it’s cooler inside now, and I’d like to set up a heated chamber.

To solid fill!

@John_Ridley Thanks! I just happen to have that very heater. I need to build some kind of enclosure now.

I just set my printers on a wire shelving rack and enclosed the top half with a ceramic heater using the built in thermostat.

Mine is not enclosed. Which is another reason the difference is so drastic.

? I’m referencing the 1st post in the thread, which contains the photo… because my printer was not enclosed I was getting layer delamination with the green abs. When I changed to the red place, I had better later adhesion and part quality despite not having a heated enclosure.
