Warning! Some of the spam that is being placed on this community contains links to malicious code! My antivirus software on my tablet just freaked out about one of the items that I had to look at to see if it was spam or not and then it closed the browser.
Thanks for the heads up!
PSA: You can use http://virustotal.com to quickly scan a website or file against 50+ AV products. There are loads of compromised sites out there.
@NathanielStenzel what antivirus are you using that does that?! I would love something like that
Just be a ban/remove-nazi. I don’t visit links; if they look suspicious, ban/remove them. Don’t waste your time. If they want to be a legit part of this community, they’ll contact one of the moderators. Leave a comment if you must. This gives them a chance to reply through their notifications. Currently dealing ‘DimensionAlley’ over this. The post was super spammy looking, but I’m hoping to give them some guidelines on posting so that they can stay within the rules. They’re trying to produce some good content, but the way it was being posted was super slimy.
@ThantiK I’m not a moderator but can I still ban someone or so I need to notify a moderator
@Griffin_Paquette , if you mark the post as spam - it will throw it into the mod queue. Nobody from that point on will be able to see it. That’s how this community has been so clean I think - because we have a lot of overall activity and people report spam pretty quickly.
@Griffin_Paquette Avast Antivirus.
@Francesco_C Thanks for the link.
