We continue with the SD3 conversion to resurrect it to have a printhead and a laser. In this post you can see that I realized I had 2 pieces of red 3mm polycarbonate lying around so I cut 2 panels for my sides. I also printed these white clips I found on Thingiverse and modified. You can also see the X carriage has been disassembled ahead of mounting an E3D V6 in a Bowden setup. The mount has enough flexibility to mount a laser head right on it afterwards and have both running on the same board and the same carriage but with different software potentially.
