We just lost what was possibly the best 3D printing company.

We just lost what was possibly the best 3D printing company.

For those who didn’t know Printrbot over the years I’m truly sorry that you didn’t get the opportunity.

Brook and the guys at Printrbot have been an incredible asset to this community and the 3D printing world through their top notch machines and gracious help over the years.

I’ve attached an old post of mine from high school where Brook donated 10 printer “frankenbot” kits and subsidized many more all for the benefit of kids learning about this wonderful technology.

Since then Printrbot has helped myself any many many members throughout the community not for the profit or to make another sale, but just cause Brook seemed to love it.

To Brook and all the PB team over the years I can’t thank you enough for all that you have done for myself and this wonderful community.

Keep making,
Griffin

The kids are really making way with the printers now. Most are ready to mount the x and y motors. Should be done within the next week or two.

My first printer was a printrbot jr, wooden.

Brook has a big heart, and has helped so many.

Sadly, having a big heart and making money don’t often go well together.

Why not make a gofundme campaing so they hold a little longer?

That’s the problem of our times. I wanted to work for a 3D printing company, but the salary they can offer is half of what I’m making in IT. In Star Trek people work to develop themselves, for benefit of not just themselves, but others. Cause they don’t have to worry about money. Wish we could do the same.
Good luck!

So sorry that Printrbot has this fate … I didn’t have such a machine but have learned a lot from people on youtube who were explaining on them. Also @Brook_Drumm1 , like many others, I hope you return somehow bigger, better. You proved to have what it takes to bring a business to success in muddy waters and in an uncertain environment, you will manage in any other field but my hope is that the reprap community will have you back somehow.

Its a sad day for the printer community.
