Well, fixed the Pi. The sd card slot broke and i never noticed until i took it out of its case, so i replaced it with one i had laying around. Wont be able to use a slim sd like i wanted to but oh well.
Ordered the rest of he parts, cleaned up and sanded the case down so its nice and smooth now. parts should be here in a week, then ill have the coolest “gameboy” on the block… 
thinking of modding the case as well for an internal speaker and adding some dimension to the face plate as the original gameboy did. See if i have time.
