Never did make a dust shoe I was happy with. As Eric said the very tight spacing makes it hard to fit a tight ring around the spindle so the mount will have to be a little different than most.

I’ve always found that having the shoe move with the z axis makes it harder to do deep cuts, especially on 1in wood since the brushes tend to get shoved up tight against the work piece as you plunge.
