Well, it just stopped with about 3/4 of an inch to go. No warning. Just sat there. I am totally bummed!.
Are you printing over USB with a host computer? If you describe your setup we might help you find the problem and prevent this from happening again.
Yes. USB from a windows 8.1 machine. Nothing was going on. It just stopped.
I was going to move it back to my Octoprint server after this print. I just sliced the top off and am printing that for now. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Z axis upper limit in firmware or slicer?
185mm I have at least 40 mm headroom.
Trying that now.
Otherwise remodel the “last” bit … print that and attach to the top…just keep on keeping on…it adds to the knowledge base for yourself…Rgds…Laurie
That’s what I did… sliced the top off and just printed that…Little glue and good to go.
It did the same thing in OctoPrint… Sdcard seems to be working fine… I am wondering if it is a heating issue.
Windows itself is fine with RAMPS & RAMBo with Marlin. You do need to disable sleep & auto updates.
That said, SD card is best for long runs.
Maybe your printer has just turned evil… They do that… And when your close to solving the problem… It’ll just go away. To frustrate you.
printer settings in control software you are using has print height setting, maybe that is the cause? it’s less, than the build model
If its not a bad USB wire, a thermistor probably failed.
nice i like it
I just finished a nice long print from SDcard. So I don’t think it is a heat or thermistor issue. I think next, I will swap out the USB cable.
I buy them in bundles on Amazon for that reason @Keith_Applegarth , too often a bad cord or wire is the culprit.
It did it from the sd card too… So, not sure where to go from here…
z height is ok in firmware.
