Well, my first try on PETG didnt go so well, i just got my self 2 spools of PETG for testing but it seems i cant make it work, my settings are:
CraftBot First Gen, All metal Hotend V6 Clone
eSun PETG White
0.4 nozzle
0.2 layer height
40 mm/s speed
90% extrusion rate (never tryied this, i allways print at 100% on ABS)
First Layer Z adjust 0.02mm
245c Head
80c Bed
Also, im using Glass + Buildtak and it works perfect for ABS but i cant make the PETG stick to the bed, it simply curls over itself and now i have a blockade, the heatbreak and the nozzle are new and clean, so it cant be a piece of ABS filament.
Any toughts?
just a final note, my hotend tends to oscilate around 235-250 for some odd reason, meabe its having some wear or something.
Blue tape and glue stick is what I use on petg
I use around 106 on the bed and around 250-260 on the hotend.
Temperature’s kinda low (I usually run at 260), and although I like their PLA (not the prettiest, but most colors print well), their PETG is garbage.
I successfully used 220/60 with an E3Dv6 and glass bed with hairspray.
I’ve found eSUN’s filament diameter is extremely inconsistent. Try measuring it with a caliper and see if that’s causing any issues. I also use 72 C for the bed and that pretty much eliminates curling.
Esun has been quality for me. I use 245c hot end and 110bed with blue tape and gluestick
Thank you all, now i see what i was doing wrong, too fast and too cold,
on another note, theres any way to clean a PETG blockade?, for ABS i used industrial grade Acetone, just let it settle for 12 hours and dissolves everything, theres anything similar for PETG? or should i burned?
I’ve never had a bad clog with petg. If you do clog, I would probably just heat up to around 160 and pull it out.
