Well my ghetto build chamber seems to be a success, I got inspired by this from the stratasys elite’s build chamber at work. I needed to print new X ends for my mendelmax to correct my Z wobble problem, I wanted these parts as straight as possible. ABS always seems to warp. Some people thought the motors would overheat, but after 6 1/2 hours everything worked just fine I have my stepper motors so finely tuned I could still put my fingers on them after 6 hours of running, I also upgraded to DRV8825 stepper drivers with more power, these are way more sensitive to tune, in fact when I first got them, I melted my Y axis and almost I didn’t have a functioning printer.

I have noticed the same thing on the drv8825. Trimmed just right my steppers are cool to the touch. If even slightly off my motors could cook an egg.

@Eclsnowman I had no idea, the damn thing would have melted my whole Y mount to a puddle.

Hello my friend. I would like to warn you that this is very dangerous. If for some reason something goes wrong with hotend(thermistor failure) or with electronics (stepper driver failure) this plastic thing will immediately take fire and the courtin is next in the window…

@Spyros_Karogloy thanks for the concern, I did it twice overnight and I didn’t have any heat issues, also I have a fuse on my power supply and auto fuses for the hot end and heatbed, so if anything shorts it will blow a fuse before it starts a fire.
