Well, that's the back half of a printer enclosure.

Well, that’s the back half of a printer enclosure. Still have to build the front.
It will have all the usual stuff like lights, perspex doors, sides etc, temperature monitor of some sort…
I’ve designed it so that the front half will clip on to the back half, so that way it’s easy to get printer in and out for modifications. Then the front half will have a door for general use.

DECISIONS:

  • Do I move all the driver board and power supply outside/ inside in separate box with vent for temperature reasons?
  • or make some sort of fan assisted venting solution for bottom of printer?

If it’s all external, makes the cooling easy but wiring a slight pain in the ass.
Internal cooling means that I’m introducing airflow and drafts that I was trying to stop by building an enclosure…

Ideas?

All electronics out of enclosure! …or overheating troubles will come to party :slight_smile:

Did you design your own z brace? Or where did you find that one?

@Alex_Hayden I got that from thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2414553
It’s really good. Most importantly, doesn’t block the front of the printer!

@Jakub_Stajner in my heart I know that but I’m trying to pretend it isn’t true haha
