Well, today is the day of many firsts for me for 3D printing. It’s my first time printing something for someone other than myself of my close local friends. Also its my first time printing something with Glow in the Dark ABS! So far its been a breeze. I’m amazed, because with all the issues I’ve had with PLA, and all I’ve read about how difficult ABS is versus PLA, this has worked almost right out of the gate. The print is underway and its got about 18 more hours to go.

@Mark_Rehorst you are probably right. The gods of printing will see my hubris and smite me.

I would think that any new filament is easy to tune for after learning to troubleshoot the first.

@Dale_Dunn that is true for some but not for others. Strangely enough I have found that the ones you would think to be easy are hard and visa versa.

Mark, its not enclosed but its in a temperature controlled environment. Not too warm though. I do have a hot bed and its set at 97C. First layer I had at 107C just to get a good bake on it. Also to ensure things are not going to get out of hand, I’m printing very slow. Slow speed is a great band-aid to many problems. Yes, it will take longer but I will sacrifice print time to get print quality. So far we’re about 16 hours into it with a few hours to go and things are looking mighty fine. (I know, kiss of death) I put an extra lip on all the base exposures, they seemed to have absorbed any corner lift and curl. At least so far.

Came out beautiful. And it actually glows in the dark, very odd.
