We’ve just finished designing our new LCD screen for Smoothieware! We’ve tested all the features and everything works great.
Features:
LCD
Rotary encoder knob (hooked up behind the pcb in picture using jumper wires)
Reset button (can be programmed to be any type of button in config)
MicroSD card
Buzzer
We’re looking for some people to help us test the first pre-production run for a reduced price of $20 + shipping ($8 flat rate in USA). Limited quantity. How many would be interested? Must have a Smoothieware printer setup.
Would a tevo little monster be a viable test bed? Currently stock smoothie and stock lcd

Looks good, I would just much prefer standard display with yellow backlight instead of inverted and blue…
Edit: am I weird? I mean, it seems to me it’s been a while since blue LEDs were cool/novel 
The black/yellow displays have better contrast/legibility to me.
@Petr_Sedlacek you are not wierd. I find it odd that science talks about blue light being bad for eyes and interrupting sleep cycles and at night 99% of my ambiant electronics glow some sort of blue… Blah.
But, luckily i wont be sleeping with the printer this could go on, and i wont be using it to read the lateat downloaded ebook. 
@Petr_Sedlacek This won’t be the final display color most likely. We have a few colors to choose from.
How does it connect to a smoothieboard? Through a RRD GLCD Adpater?
@Johan_Jakobsson Ribbon cable. No adapter needed.
@Shai_Schechter So same as the current GLDC displays?
@Johan_Jakobsson GLCD requires 2 ribbon cables and an adapter for smoothie because its not made specifically for smoothie. Ours uses only one ribbon connection. You would need to check your setup.
@Shai_Schechter OK, sounds interesting. Would love to try one as i’m not happy with my glcd. But i’m on the wrong side of the Atlantic. =/
I guess it would work with other smoothiebased boards too? Got a smoothieboard and a azteeg mini wifi.
