We’ve just started production on the first batch of our new mini hotends. Should be available for pre-order soon at http://deltaprintr.com. We’ll have a limited quantity available at first. You can subscribe on our site to get notified when pre-orders open up. You can see it in action in a few videos on our instagram page: http://instagram.com/deltaprintr
Can you give any more information on how it is designed? I already love the small heater, but how easy is it to clean? Does it have a PTFE inliner?
Omg omg omg it’s so CUTE!
@Mark_Rehorst Of course. We’ve had several users testing it now for over 2 months with various materials such as copper, brass, Colorfabb - XT, PLA, etc… No issues whatsoever.
@Bjorn_Marl The nozzle detaches from the heater like any other hotend and is switchable. There is a PTFE liner that stops short about 10mm of the heat break. It’s inside the heatsink and we’ve heated the hotend close to 250C without any issues. The heat doesn’t creep up to it enough to cause any problems.
We’ll be releasing some thermal image tests that we’ve done soon to show how well the heat is contained.
We’ve also printed with the hotend without a fan several times using copper, brass and PLA at around 220C and noticed no issues, but this will of course vary by material quality etc. A fan is recommended and is included.
On our next version iteration we’re already planning on having the push-fit inside the heatsink like the E3D hotend, but instead of having a brass insert to keep the push-fit inside, we’re just going to CNC it directly into the aluminum heatsink.
The hotend can also be used as a direct drive instead of bowden.
You’re killing me @Shai_Schechter . It’s like I found a new toy store!
What’s the price? Hardened nozzles?
@Ryan_Fritts We’re aiming for $30-40 for the hotend. Currently we do not plan to produce hardened nozzles. Instead, we’re going to be offering sapphire nozzles in the near future as soon as we finish testing our prototypes.
quit teasing us already and don’t post again until the preorder link is available.
I subscribed a long time ago when it was announced. How come you don’t also send out a “pre pre-order” notification to that subscriber list so we know it is working.
@James_Armstrong We don’t want to spam our subscribers with every progress we make… We’ll be sending out an email once it’s available on our site to order
Ok, just wondering because I haven’t received a single email since signing up months ago.
How much is the hotend? NM, all the comments finally loaded.
Ahm… How do you mount it?!
@Rene_Jurack You attach it with two M3 screws.
couldn’t find this on your website
@Slavko_Me It’s not available yet. Will be soon.
Can’t wait to get my hands on one. Should be quite fun and quick. What did you guys end up doin about the temp? What is the peak?
Its very nice and CUTE!!!
@James_Armstrong I have to agree… lol
