what are the best temperatures are best to print ABS on painters tape (printing at 215 c)

I am guessing you mean the bed temp? I usually have my extruder at 220c and the bed at 100-105c. Fresh painters tape makes a big difference here too

ABS on painters tape? Unless you are printing a very small object, I would advise against it. Kapton tape, hairspray, or ABS-juice, because the ABS will lift the tape right of the bed.
215C is kinda low for ABS. Depends on the brand. Bed temperature around 90-100C.
Around 70C wirh hairspray.
No fans.
No draft.
But your mileage may vary.

For so reason there abs on painters tape has been coming up around me a lot. And all of them are mad because it’s not working for crap.

@Joe_Spanier painters tape and abs goo (made with acetone) is working great for me i cant stand kapton tape

hairspray on bare glass at 90C has worked the best in my experience.

95-115C on not-painters-tape.

The thermal properties of abs makes the material warp when cooling.the way to over come this is to keep hearing it above its glass transition temp. This is why people use heated beds…

Painters tape won’t work. The glue will not stick at the bed temp.

Pls has a low thermal expansion efficient, and a low glass transition temp… So tape works

@Graydon_Treude awesome. They were having issues with the abs pulling the tape up. I hate kapton too. Straight glass and glue stick or PEI for me.

@Joe_Spanier painters tape and abs goo works well to

Why the painters tape?
The adhesion of the tape is not enough to keep larger parts from warping.

@Rien_Stouten i haven’t had a problem with warping yet
